In the fitness industry for 16 years, Alex McLean is certified through AFAA and ACE as a group exercise instructor and AFAA, ACE and NASM as a personal trainer. He is completing the comprehensive Pilates certification through Balanced Body University. He has presented master classes for various fitness companies such as Reebok and Evolution Fitness Conference and numerous national charities such as the Workout for Hope, American Heart Association and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. A top 5 finalist in the Nike Rock-Star Instructor Search, he is a featured instructor for FitnessGlo.com and master trainer for the Total Gym Gravity program.
As an entertainer, Alex appeared in fitness videos by Petra Kolber, Michelle Dozois, Reebok, Total Gym and Spinning. He has danced for Leann Rhimes in the opening ceremonies of the Rose Parade, international hip hop troupe Nike Culture Shock, the Reebok Performance Team, Disney and Universal Studios. He worked as a dancer and trampoline aerialist for the NBA and WNBA. He has choreographed for the Reebok and FitTV sponsored Star Tour as well as various high school and college dance teams. He holds a BS in Marketing from Bentley College, Waltham, MA, and an MS in Marketing from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL.
Carlos is recognized as one of the top fitness presenters of the Caribbean. He has been in the fitness arena for the past 21 years as a group fitness instructor, choreographer for exercise TV shows, program director, examiner and personal trainer. Carlos has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and owns Forma-T, a personal training studio in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
He is the 1996 AAU USA National Step Champion and winner of the step silver medal in the FISAA World Aerobic Championships. An ACE & AFAA Faculty Member, Carlos has presented for IDEA and SCW Fitness Conventions and for international conferences in Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean. Carlos is best known for his excellent breakdown skills, motivational presentations and his high energy Latin Dance-Inspired Choreography.
Carol Murphy, 2010 IDEA Fitness Instructor of the Year, is the owner and education coordinator for FitLife, in Fairport, NY. She has helped change the way the world trains on the ball through her work as the national programming coordinator for Resist-A-BallÂ®.
A veteran of more than 20 fitness DVD's, known for her infectious energy, results oriented workouts and passion to make fitness fun - Carol's innovative classes and fitness training programs have been featured in many DVDs, magazines and conventions world-wide. Carol has authored over 50 instructor training courses, lectures and articles and holds seven national certifications including ACSM, NASM, ACE, AFAA and CanFitPro.
Carole is a choreographer and international presenter with nearly two decades of experience in the fitness industry. Driven by passion for hip-hop and community outreach, Carole worked as National Director for Culture Shock Canada and was recognized in that role with the Ottawa Community Builder's Award. Formerly the host of the "CARDIO HIP-HOP" television show, Carole maintains her commitment to fitness in her current role as the owner of Groove Ottawa, a Fitness Consulting Company and as Ottawa's Lululemon Ambassador.
Today, Carole continues to live out her passion for fitness and coaching by teaching dance fitness and bootcamp programs, leading instructor training workshops, presenting at national and international conferences and continues to train for triathlon events. Carole is best known for her contagious energy and unique teaching style.
Gay is best known as "the Innovator of Creative Choreography" teaching instructors for numerous organizations and conventions around the world. As a Perform Better-sponsored athlete, she is featured in the group exercise fitness product catalog. Her experience includes being a staff member of SCW for sixteen years, part of the Extreme Urban Rebounding team, and star of the video series "Cardio Karate". In addition to being a Master Trainer for Qignition, Gay is also a Master Trainer for TRX and RealRyder.
She has been seen in Shape magazine, on QVC and is one of Comcast Cable 5 Star Trainers. Gay has been LaToya Jackson's personal trainer and the official step trainer for the NY Jets. She is the featured star of over 30 best-selling exercise videos, including (three) fitness videos for "dummies". Originally on the fitness scene as the "first" National STEP Challenge Champion, Gay is certified by ACE, AFAA, AAAI, IFTA ,holds a degree in Fine Arts and continues to inspire, teach and train clients and instructors.
Gwenda Hansen started choreographing at the age of 13 and taught her first Group Fitness class (then called aerobics) in college at Texas Tech University in the early '90s. An entertaining fitness presenter, Gwenda thrives on inspiring people with her energy and smiles. AFAA certified, Gwenda is the creator of Be Bad Hip Hop and a Master Trainer for both the QiDANCE and QiFORZE programs. Gwenda has a special interest in overweight clients, as she struggled with her weight as a young adult and sympathizes with those who are unhappy with their reflection in the mirror. As the parents of three young children, Gwenda and her husband of twelve years are determined to set a great example for them by living a healthy and fit lifestyle.
Ilyse Baker, winner of Exercise TV's Top Trainer in the Country for Dance Instructor, specializes in dance fitness and choreography. Ilyse is praised as a dance teacher like no other. She has a B.A. in Dance Performance and Education from the prestigious Point Park University. Ilyse is a Lululemon Ambassador, a Reebok Jukari-Fit to Fly Ambassador; and she is an annual SHAPE Magazine Bikini Body Tour Instructor.
She has presented at many conventions including AFEEX in Beijing, China. Ilyse co-starred in a dance video with ABC's Dancing with the Stars champion, Cheryl Burke. She has also worked with NBC's Biggest Loser trainer, Kim Lyons. Ilyse has written for Shape.com and NBC's Style Goes Strong. She has also worked with Ricki Lake on her new Talk Show launching in 2012.
Jamie G. Smith
Jamie G. is a dance-fitness specialist with over 20 years experience and has danced with the Movement Dance Company. She serves as a Continuing Education Faculty Member for ACE and AFAA and is an ACE certified group fitness instructor.
Jamie is dedicated to bringing both consumers and instructors exceptional education and is passionate about helping all find confidence and a soul-deep revival through dance; thus bringing freedom, authenticity and success into their workout, spreading throughout their lives.
Larisa Yaghoobov Settembro has been a fitness professional for over 18 years. Her journey into the fitness industry began at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where Larisa obtained a Bachelor of Arts Minor in Fitness Education and began teaching fitness classes on campus. For years, Larisa lived overseas on the island of Saipan, where she mastered how to present fitness as a universal language to guests of many different nationalities. Upon returning to the U.S., she began working for 24 Hour Fitness as a Certified Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Senior Group Exercise Manager, and Master Trainer.
As a Master Trainer, Larisa has presented Dance, Step, Resistance, Aqua, Pilates, and Yoga. She has been the lead personality in numerous instructional DVDs and has assisted in the development of various group exercise programs. Larisa has also worked as a long term consultant for Southern California Edison, educating both field and administrative employees on various health & wellness topics. Larisa presented at IDEA World Fitness Convention in 2008, at the MuscleTech Fit Expo in 2005, and was published in IDEA Fitness Edge in 2003. Current certifications include ACE, AFAA, and AEA.
A leading fitness authority in her native Puerto Rico, Lucila is the President of the Examining Board of Physical Fitness Instructors at Puerto Rico's Department of Recreation and Sports. She works as a Professional Faculty Member for top leading international fitness organizations like ACE, AFAA, FiTOUR, BOSU, Stott Pilates, Beat IT Exercise, and NSCA. She is also an AFAA Certification Examiner and Team Pro. Her workshops have been presented at NSCA Clinics, APHERD and Italy's Fitness Festival, among others. She is the Director of Development at Puerto Rico Dance Professionals Association and Director of Latin American Wellness at The Weekly Fitness Challenge.
Thru her Intelligent Movement® philosophy, Lucila's students learn the four key pillars of health: alignment, control, effort, and oxygenation. She is a Former Head Trainer and Service Manager for a leading USA gym chain, and has trained celebrities such as Sting, Mariah Carey, and a former Miss World Caribbean. A contributing fitness expert for print, broadcast, and internet, Lucila has an MBA degree in Marketing, university level teaching experience and extensive marketing and advertising experience.
Marianne Lidiak Baker is the Director of Group Exercise for The Concourse Athletic Club in Atlanta, GA, one of the largest and most recognized group exercise programs in the Southeastern United States. She creates formats and manages the delivery of more than 380 classes per month by her 90 instructors. Marianne has been featured multiple times on CBS Better Mornings, Atlanta Business Radio, Atlanta Health & Fitness magazine, Jezebel magazine, and others. She also sponsors and promotes major awareness and fundraiser campaigns for national charities such a Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure, Toys-For-Tots with the U.S. Marines, Huntington's Awareness with Zumba, and many others.
Marianne has trained hundreds of instructors in workshops, covering a diverse range of exercise techniques and topics. She is a certified exercise leader (ACSM), personal trainer, Master Trainer for QiGNITION and is certified in Pilates, Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Zumba Gold, Balletone, willpower&grace, Body Pump, Body Jam and many more.
Marianne graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Education and a minor in Physical Education. She now lives in Johns Creek, GA with her husband of 30 years and has two daughters, Stephanie and Madeline.
Melissa Towey is a Fitness Presenter & Certification Educator for IFTA, a Continuing Education Provider for ACE and AFAA, and a Master Trainer with QiGNITION and Gliding™. She holds group exercise, step and kickboxing certifications through various organizations.
Melissa holds a Bachelor's Degree from Seton Hall University and has been teaching at commercial, community and corporate fitness centers for 13 years. She is the National Group Fitness Manager for MediFit Corporate Services, a management consulting company dedicated to providing state-of-the-art fitness, wellness and health promotion solutions to corporate, community and residential clients.
With a focus on developing classes and choreography that combine multiple concepts in a safe and fun manner, Melissa always makes sure she creates an experience from which participants can learn and take with them outside the classroom.
A tried and true "Jersey Girl", Melissa and her husband Marty live in Northern NJ, with their daughter, Lucy, and two Shetland Sheepdogs, Casey and Jovi (yes, as in Jon Bon…)

Nancy Gitlin holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance from the Boston Conservatory of Music. She is the author of "Frank Hatchett's Jazz Dance" published by Human Kinetics. Nancy is certified in Pilates from the Physical Mind Institute, as well as receiving certifications from ACE, AFAA and SCW Fitness. She is an Elite Master Trainer for Beamfit and former SCW Fitness Education Faculty Member.
Nancy presents at National Fitness Conventions and has starred in numerous dance cardio and Pilates videos. Nancy has been a dance and fitness instructor for over 25 years throughout the country including the prestigious Broadway Dance Center in New York City and The Boston Conservatory of Music. She taught alongside the legendary Frank Hatchett at countless national dance conventions as well as the Jazz Dance World Congress. Nancy has created aerobic and dance curriculum at various colleges throughout the Mid West. She is the Fitness/Dance Supervisor at the YMCA in St. Joseph, MI.
Blending 15 years of international experience with degrees in psychology and exercise science, Nathalie will passionately both educate and inspire you. As the Director of Membership and Certification for Canfitpro, the largest provider of education in the Canadian fitness industry, Nathalie uses her uniquely vibrant leadership style to make profound and lasting change with her staff, clients, and participants.
Tahneetra Crosby is a presenter, certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor. Tahneetra is a Senior Master Trainer, development team member and choreographer for Qignition. With over 10 years experience as a group exercise instructor and personal trainer, Tahneetra is also a Course Instructor for TRX®. Tahneetra has an enthusiastic passion for sharing fitness and specializes in dance, resistance training, TRX® Suspension Training, TRX® Rip Training, bootcamp and interval-style classes with an emphasis on the fun factor of exercise.
Tahneetra has presented for 24 Hour Fitness, Powder Blue Productions and Southern California Edison. In addition, she was a dance presenter at the 2008 IDEA World Fitness Convention ™ . As a presenter for Southern California Edison, Tahneetra presented Health and Wellness seminars to Edison employees. Lastly, Tahneetra created a strength and cardio program as the featured trainer for SELF Magazine's March 2010 SELF Challenge issue. She holds certifications from NASM and AFAA.
Terri manages the Body Strategies program at Diamond Head Chiropractic which designs, implements and bridges the gap between chiropractic care and personal training. She is a Master Trainer for QiFORZE and Tabata Boot Camp. Terri's credentials include a B.S. in Exercise Science, CPT-NSCA and an AISS (Active Isolated Stretching Specialist.)
Terri is a highly accomplished athlete in Aerobic Gymnastics: 4 time women's individual national champion, several time World Medalist, silver trio World Medalist and has won several international championships. Currently she races outrigger canoes: her new found passion.
Teresa is an AFAA and ACE certified fitness professional, with over 10 years of instruction in group exercise classes includingkickboxing, strength and interval training, indoor cycling and a variety of dance-based formats. Locally, Teresa's involvement in health and fitness has earned her features in the news, including The Central Valley Today Show, Great Day with Kopi, and the Visalia Times Delta.
Her images as a fit model have been used by popular fitness facilities, like In Shape City Health Clubs and she was pictured inAFAA's American Fitness Magazine Jan/Feb 2012 issue. In 2010, Teresa was invited to become a Master Trainer for R.I.P.P.E.D, The One Stop Body Shock. Teresa has presented at many health clubs across the nation and on the performance stage atIDEA World Fitness Convention and the Evolutions Fitness Conference. In 2012, she joined QiGNITION as a Master Trainer, working under the direction of Leigh Crews, the 2011 IDEA Fitness Presenter of the Year and award winning Grammy music producer, Kike Santander. When Teresa isn't sweating it out at the gym, you will find her enjoying time with her husband and three kids.
With over 15 years of experience in the fitness industry Nicky brings a wealth of knowledge as well as a sense of fun to everything she does. Nicky is a certified personal trainer, fitness instructor, TRX Team Coach, QiFORZE Master Trainer and presenter.
As a canfitpro PRO TRAINER she enjoys teaching the Fitness Instructor Specialist certification as well as mentoring and sharing her passion for fitness with new instructors as they begin their journeys into the fitness industry.
Jenni Matheson loves living life to the fullest with beautiful family & friends. She is an advocate and motivator for health and wellness lifestyles and helps clients reach their potential through exercise, nutrition, and support. She is also a dance/fitness professional with over 20 years experience.
She traveled worldwide with the international cast of Up With People as an instructor and contributing choreographer, helping develop and stage 3 shows with 7 different casts. Jenni has led several specialty workshops focusing on fitness and rhythms from around the world. Her goal is to connect people to a fitness format that fits their passion, and lead people to a healthier lifestyle.

Lauren George discovered her love for group fitness in college when she started teaching aerobics at Texas A&M University. She was instantly hooked and has had a passion for helping others live healthier, happier lives ever since.
She holds a Bachelors degree from Texas A&M University and a Masters degree from the University of North Texas. Throughout her career, she has held positions as a fitness director, group exercise instructor, and personal trainer. There is nothing that brings Lauren more joy than helping others to discover their passion for teaching and improve their skills as an instructor. During her time as a group fitness coordinator in the university setting she has helped hundreds of instructors start their fitness careers. She is an AFAA certified group exercise instructor, ACE personal trainer, Balanced Body certified Pilates instructor, and holds specialty certifications in Balletone, Piloxing, Booty Barre, Spinning, yoga, and dance.
